Fish Oil contains the omega-3 triglycerides EPA and DHA, and can be taken as a dietary supplement to a cholesterol-lowering program (which should also include a reduction in consumption of saturated fat and increased consumption of fibre-rich foods). The omega-3 triglycerides have an anti-inflammatory activity in the body, and are indicated to relieve symptoms of psoriasis and eczema and to temporarily reduce the pain of arthritis and rheumatism.
