Facts about Worms
Parasitic worms come in three types: trematodes or flukes, cestodes or tapeworms and nematodes or roundworms. Most live in the intestinal system and cause weight loss, stomach upsets and either diarrhoea or constipation with eggs, cysts and worms sometimes visible in faeces. Long term effects include anaemia and malnutrition. Some worm infections can in fact have no symptoms while worm numbers are low.
