Gentian is for doubt and despondency. Sufferers are easily discouraged and depressed when things go wrong or when faced with difficulties. Unlike Mustard, their depression is always from an identifiable cause. They may in fact be making good progress in illness or in life but are easily disheartened by small setbacks.
Gentian may be useful for those people who feel despondent with a long-term or recurrent illness. It is also useful for children discouraged about their schoolwork.

Directions for Use:
Dilute two drops of Gentian Bach Flower Remedy in a glass of water and sip at intervals. Replenish as neccessary. For multiple use, add two drops of Gentian to a 30ml mixing bottle (you may combine up to seven remedies in this bottle), top up with mineral water and take four drops at least four times a day. If neccessary, the Bach Original Flower Remedies can be dropped neat onto the tongue, or rubbed onto the lips, behind the ears, or on the temples and wrists.
You can take Bach Original Flower Remedies as often as you want. If you are in a mood or a bit of a crisis, you only may need one dose, but if you've been feeling the same way for some time you can take them as long as you need to.
Use for Pets:
Pets have emotions too. They feel fear, anger, jealousy, and depression just like us. The Bach Flower Essences are able to help our pets when they have negative emotions just as they help us when we are emotionally out of balance. Gentian helps:
- For set backs of any kind, such as being relocated, sold or given away again and again.
- For long illnesses or when there is a relapse.
- Depression resulting from the set back experienced by an animal when, for example, it's baby dies or is relocated.
- For horses that have had a bad experience due to injury or an abusive trainer and now has little initiative to re-begin a training routine.
